IE is an approach to eating where we learn to trust our body’s innate wisdom about which foods are tasty, energizing, and sustaining. By definition, it means letting go of external rules about when or what to eat, as well as putting on the back burner any weight loss goals.
Division of Responsibility. In this model of raising healthy little eaters, parents are responsible for the What, When, and Where of serving food. Children are wholly responsible for Whether and How Much to eat. This approach protects and nourishes our children’s innate ability to tune into their bodies’ needs.
